Research Interests

Caitlyn earned an MS (2019) and PhD (2022) in clinical psychology from the University of Kentucky. Caitlyn's research centers around understanding the co-occurrence of PTSD and health risk behaviors in trauma-exposed, vulnerable populations. Her work aims to (1) inform the development of efficacious mental health and substance use treatments and (2) evaluate the effectiveness of evidence-based interventions implemented in contexts where at-risk individuals can be reached. Her dissertation assessed the impact of PTSD symptoms on HIV/HCV risk-reduction interventions administered to incarcerated women in rural Appalachian Kentucky. Caitlyn was supported by funding from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA T32 DA035200; PI: Rush).
